After all the DRAMA, Hamlet_Machine starts of Pg 34 with a breathtaking shot of the space station. Her attention to detail is something to be admired. Did you see the faint word "ALLIANCE" on the side of the station? Look for it. The stars are something to gawk at, that's for sure.
The second panel shows us Abel amongst his fellow Navigators. We can see a dark skinned, dark haired Navigator in the back. This dispels the rumour that all Navigators are pale pretty blondes. (Oh how I wish.) He may or may not be important but that remains to be seen. Their uniform are vaguely different. So that's a uniform for everyday routines, a uniform for fighting and a uniform for meetings.
The view closes in on Abel. Abel glances around instead of keeping his eyes straight ahead. Apparently, Commander Cook does not call meetings often and when he does, he seldom if ever, addresses them personally. The busy person he is, he probably has little time to deal with the underlings.
As we take a step back, a person steps into the lecture hall-esque room. The Navigators all stand at attention and someone enters behind the first. I won't pretend that I know what the hell is in the middle of a room, probably some kind of simulation device. For now, it appears to show terrain of some sort.
"Gentlemen, this is a time sensitive matter." Commander Cook addresses the Navigators. "Therefore, I shall be brief."
Two sentences in, we can deduce the following:
1. Commander Cook is amazingly hot.
2. Slicked back hair, thin-framed glasses, he is probably really organised.
3. He's a practical man for keeping things brief.
I would like to note that the Navigator beside Commander Cook looks suspiciously like the one from Abel's imagination when he pictures Cain with another Navigator.
Ominous foreshadowing? Perhaps Abel knows this particular Navi?
Also, let's not forget poor disappointed Deimos.
