Take it easy. The only reason there is any resistance is because this is a new thing. People don’t take kindly to new things. This is a first ever Christmas-themed anything in any University in Malaysia. Naturally, there will be people who don’t support it.
Although it is true, Christmas is primarily a Christian Holiday, Christmas has been far too commercialized for having a Christmas-themed event to have any weight in the Christian world.
Santa? Snow? Reindeer and December? These are things that true Christians would not associate with Christmas. No Silver Bells, no chestnuts roasting on an open fire and certainly no ‘All I want for Christmas is you’.
So we carol. So we give out good cheer. It’s not meant to convert. (Though, you’re welcome to do so if you want.) It’s just a season of giving. Love one another.
Please don’t get worked up about it.
