Parkour

I'm trying out Parkour and I'm loving it!

For those who don't know, Parkour aka Free-running is the art of getting from Point A to Point B using the fastest and most efficient way possible.

What does this mean? If there's a Fence and I want to get from this side (Point A) to the other side (Point B), I would need to jump over it. But how exactly would I jump over it? Parkour teaches a few methods to vault over the fence or climb it in order to avoid needing to go around it.

I went on Saturday. That was the new recruitment session and I met a lot of awesome people who spent a lot of time teaching me how to lazy vault, side vault (jump over a fence), wall up (climb a wall).

Had trouble with all 3 and especially the jump from ledge to ledge. It's really freaky trying to jump from one ledge to another. It's a short distance but the height oh word the height is just super freaky.

Today, I went again with Nicholas, Emmanuel, Angelo and Wilson. They helped me get the lazy and side vault mostly right, then helped me with my wall up. (Word dammit I need to learn how to aim with the side vault.)

Knee's quitting on me, everything hurts but it's awesome. It's so awesome. I just love walling up.

Also Wilson gave me horrible news: I need to jog more. I hate jogging. I really hate jogging but for the sake of Parkour and getting fit, I'll do it. I'll probably do High Intensity Interval Training when I jog, hope to burn off some fat and get a little more power in the legs so I can do higher wall ups.

Woo hoo!

Now to find a place to train in UPM.
