Orientation Week

I couldn’t go online because uSPOT was down for a few days so this is a few days late.

Orientation week for the Freshmen started on Wednesday. I posted about my food poisoning on Tuesday right? Well Wednesday was the first day of registration. Freshmen entering university go to each of their hostels and register as a student. I got up early even though I felt sick cause I don’t like feeling useless more than I don’t like feeling sick. So I went down, and helped field some questions for the parents and some of the freshmen. Things like where to go and what to do, what orientation is all about and what they can expect in uni life.

I must say I’m surprised and a little pleased at this years intake. For one thing, there are now international students around. This means that in the future, all our announcements have to be in English and we can do our best to involve them in our activities. This year, about 80 Chinese entered KC. Wow. Really. Last year we only had 40. I think. Very few. All the Freshies are from Phys Ed. Counseling, Music, Physics, Statistics, Networking or Consumer Science.

I’m kinda sad that none of my fac juniors are with me but maybe it’s all for the best. When I went to fac day on Friday, I found out that the Microbes and the Biotechs are in K16, the Biochems and CellBios are in K14. This means it’s going to be easier for them to hold activities and stuff in the future. :> :> so happeh.

Yes. I’m going to name them Cell Bios. Short for Cell Biology and Molecular Science.

Honestly, I don’t really know what I’ve been doing. I went to the hall, sat in the hall, came back to college, watched the freshies do their thing, helped answer some questions, go back to hall, go to fac, go to hall, watch freshies do their thing…. go to the Exposition Hill. Heh. I only call it that, it’s not actually called Exposition Hill.

Met up with Xin Yi, nearly ter-murdered myself with a knife….. Random things really :> :>

Anyway. I’m going to go have dinner and then catch up on what the freshies are doing.

I still have stuff to do :< :<
